Our Constitutional Functions

In exercise of its constitutional functions, the Civil Service Commission relies largely on the use of the following documents:

i. The Bendel State Public Service Commission Regulation (1978) applicable to Delta State of Nigeria;
ii. The Bendel State Civil Service Rules (Revised in 1978) applicable to Delta State of Nigeria;
iii. The 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria;
iv. The Guildelines on Appointments, Promotions and Disciple in the Civil Service issued in 1998;
v. The scheme of Service;
vi. The Financial Instructions; and
vii Circular Letters.
In October 2001, the departments of Personnel Management, Finance and Supplies were merged to form the Department of Administration and Finance leaving the Commission with four Departments.
